nature, sports & museums

The location on the Bay of Roses offers unique options. The specific wind makes part of the bay a popular place for (kite) surfers. The adjacent natural reserve Aiguamolls is a 5,000-hectare wetland area that is home to many bird species. The nearby Cap de Creus, the easternmost point of Spain, invites you for a challenging bike ride or a magnificent walk along the coast. Don’t forget to visit one of the Salvador Dalí Museums in Figueres, Cadaques or Pubol. And believe it or not: in winter you can be on the Pyrenees ski slopes within two hours.

HOW about Food?

The presence of sea and mountains offer a highly varied cuisine with many local products. The most well known are probably the prawns from Roses and the anchovies from Escala but don’t forget the rice from Pals, the Crema Catalana and of course ‘Pa amb tomàquet’, the bread rubbed with garlic and tomato that you cannot ignore in this part of Spain. We are happy to advise you, from beach bars to Michelin stars. Don’t forget to drink a good glass of ecological wine and visit the impressive museum of El Bulli (the former best restaurant in the world).
